Synopsis
The story starts out with the CIA Government Agency meeting up with Osborne Cox(John Malkovich). Then his boss CIA officer (David Rasche) quickly let him know the news that he is fired. Osborne felt he got blind sighted and got fired due to his drinking. He was cursing a storm and left by slamming the door shut.

Later that day, Osborne was home earlier then usual and his wife, Katie Cox (Tilda Swinton) was home but she was asking him if he got the cheese. He was trying to tell her that he left his job but she didn't let and got upset because he didn't pick up the cheese. Then later that night he was serving the cheese to some of his wife's friends. He was not aware at the moment that his wife was cheating with some acquaintance Katie new. Harry Pfarrer (George Clooney) was the one that was sleeping with Katie.

The next day Osborne woke up and told his wife that he left his job. Katie was so mad because why didn't tell her about what was going and why he left the job. Katie asked him if he got a some type of compensation and he said, no, because he quit. Osborne said that he was swimming against the current. Then katie asked him what will he be doing next? Osborne said some writing and then Katie cuddled. He feel and looked hurt by that attitude from Katie. Then she takes the opportunity to speak to her lawyer and prepare herself to divorce him. She listens to her lawyer and makes a copy of his financial records and hands them to the lawyers office.
Linda Litzke(Frances McDormand) works at a gym called Hard Bodies. She wants to renew her body because she works in an environment that appearances are everything. Linda is obsessed with getting surgery done and this all over her body

Harry Pfarrer(George Clooney) is a nymphomaniac just for starters.
The person that cleans the bathrooms at the gym found the CD on the floor and got into the hands of Chad Feldheimer (Brad Pitt), he assumed that he had food Intelligent information that is top secret. He had no idea that it was not that sensitive. Later that night Chad found the owner of the person of the CD.

He meet with Osborne and argues with him again and ask's about the money. But Osborne was not having this now and punched him in the nose. Then Chad got mad and left the car full of blood due to the Osborne getting a little crazy with Chad. Then Linda went to the Russian Embassy to give them the CD full of sensitive information but the Russian told her that information was useless.

Linda Litzke (Frances McDormand) is a member on the online dating service. She likes to meet people in the park and from there on go out to eat and watch a movie. She meets up with Harry and doesn't know as of yet the connection that he has. But Harry likes to job a lot and is always asking at peoples home the type of wooden floor they have.

Linda and Chad go to the Russian embassy because Osborne refused to pay any money to them. So Linda was so focused to get money for her operation so she basically gave the Russians the CD and told them there was more. Then Chad was the one to go into the house and wanted to get more information at the house of Osborne.Then he finally saw that he had his chance to go into the house. Then He was going to leave the house when suddenly, as Harry enters the house and runs to go take a shower, Chad hides in the closet and waits. When Harry gets his holster from the closet and gets surprised and shoots Chad on the head and dies automatic.

Harry Finds the person that has been following him all around town and went after him. Then when he scared the person who he was working for he finds out that his wife is going to divorce him. He was done emotionally. She knew that he was having all of these affairs and on the other side of the token so was she.

Harry found out that Linda was connected to Osborne and that Chad was missing. Harry lost it and started to run in the park because he thought that everyone there also Linda was a government official. Then Ted (Richard Jenkins) went to find more information for Linda and while he was inside the house, Osborne found him and then He shoots him on the upper chest and then runs after him with an ax and kills him. The government officials end up killing Osborne Cox. Then they paid off Linda for her surgeries.

Commentary
The story of the film had a lot of players with different plots all intertwining together.
Harry Pfarrer(George Clooney) is a nymphomaniac just for starters and is always asking other people why type of hardwood floors he has and let's not forget this reflex thing and making it a point for people to have compassion for him to do a condition he does not have.
Then for Linda she is middle age person that is dying to look younger then she could but go to extreme measures to get her money of plastic surgery.
Then you have the angry fired Osborne that would scream from the top of his lungs. He would be the one that would start scaling little by little until he would pop of how mad he was.
Then you have the cute Brad Pitt being a personal trainer full of energy and always moving around and burning calories. He did not have a full size of brains but he understood the meaning of getting money. Which at the end of the money he was the one that got scarified because he didn't win anything at all. He was the one that lost everything, life.
This story plot is about American politics and how something that was of no use one person Chad gave it more credit then it originally it had. The movie really didn't have a much besides the mix and match stories that all at the end came together.
